My name is Jenna Sciacchitano, and welcome to my little hideaway in the universe that's all my own -- the virtual universe, that is! ;) I am a rising junior at High Tech High School in Secaucus, New Jersey, and live not too far away in Bayonne, New Jersey (if you ever find yourself there, try our pizza -- it's delicious!). I live with my mom and Oma (that's Grandma in German!). In my spare time, I love to draw, play video games, and listen to music (especially lo-fi and chillhop! I really enjoy relaxing tunes); though I don't write independently, I also find it quite enjoyable. Out of all sports, I think ice skating and swimming are by far my favorites! I also really enjoy brainstorming and exploring my dreams -- where I could travel if it was possible for me, having an adorably fluffy cat, and drawings if I could only replicate them from my original, better-looking thoughts, for example! Learning is one of my greatest passions, and I am so glad that the Girls Who Code SIP has given me the opportunity to learn computer science!
Learning is one of my greatest passions -- it can open your mind up to so many new experiences and perspectives beyond your own and is truly enriching and worthwhile. From math to Italian, I love learning more about many different subjects. Researching biology and medicine, as well as they ways they have impacted the world, are common activities of mine. I am currently in the Biomedical Science program at my school, and hope to research these fields in the future!
Computer science is likewise an incredibly fascinating topic to me, having been introduced by my school's Girls Who Code club just two years ago. Though I do not know much coding yet, I am so excited to see where this adventure will take me. Computer science intersects lots with biology as well -- biotechnology is an incredible field, helping people heal and improve their lives through the power of code! I have a strong desire to help others and hate seeing the amount of suffering in our world; I hope that I can lend a helping hand to others, too, through my newfound knowledge in computer science.
